San Francisco is just like Second Life

And… WRONG.  The San Francisco tech scene might be like Second Life, but as someone who has grown up in the Bay Area his entire life, any “natives” can tell you that this city and the area surrounded it has its own identity beyond the tech scene.  You just have to be pro-active in finding that community. 

For all of the flaws in this area and for all my moments of escapism (remember my brief stint in Canada?) it speaks for something that I haven’t left the Bay Area yet.  (Watch, I’ll announce that I’m moving to, like, Miami next week or something.)
