It’s hard to believe that the Loma Prieta earthquake was 20 years ago. The Embarcadero Freeway (Interstate 480) was destroyed, but ultimately paved the way for the rebuilding and gentrification and of the waterfront boulevard that we know and love today.
This video is in bittersweet remembrance of that highway. Also, a good excuse to post a clip from Koyaanisqatsi with A-Ha as its soundtrack.
