Leon The Professional - Shape Of My Heart

[spoilers if you haven’t seen the movie, obvs.]

We caught “The Professional” on TV last night in one of our rare channel-surfing moments. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this movie.

It was released sixteen years ago, and that kinda blows my mind.

Around that time, I was a teenager working at the local movie house. Almost every movie that was released in the early to mid-nineties I saw at least once, many multiple times. A few to the point that I was studying their artistry and technical aspects. This whetted my appetite for filmmaking and in turn, I attended school to hone the skill, where I took a shining to the art of film and video editing.

My career eventually turned to graphic design, but I still enjoyed editing, which I still did from time to time. Today, I’m still a graphic designer, but I am fortunate enough to exercise my editing skills on a regular basis to create trailers for video games.

It comes full circle, in which I see this movie again, which then inspires me once again to create.
